Hey, I get the same errors with 2.6.8 although I'd be more inclined to think it was a defective hard drive except it's a brand new laptop and smartmontools seems to be happy with it. Maybe the problem is the fact it's so new, I'm no expert by any means but could the "failed opcode was: unknown" message indicate this?
