Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-386

Something is very strange with my system's clock. The following is from
the output of 'date' run from the same shell about
1 second apart:

  12:13:37
        13:25:08
  12:13:34

I have already described this in a thread in my local LUG:
http://mirror.hamakor.org.il/archives/linux-il/02-2005/14212.html
I tried to eliminate any user-space program I could think of.

On one system I have the problem appeared when I have upgraded from
kernel-image-2.6.7-1-386 (2.6.7-2) to kernel-image-2.6.8-2-386
(2.6.8-13) and gone only when I have downgraded the kernel two days
later.

Now the same problem appears on another machine. This time with kernel
2.6.8-2-386 (2.6.8-12). The clock advances three seconds, then leaps
forward 4291 seconds, only to leap back 4294 seconds about a second
later.

Needless to say that this has some very strange effects on my system,
such as beeps that take forever to finish and processes that get hung
for no good reason.

Both systems are IBM ThinkCentre, cpuinfo:
