Package: kernel-image-2.6-em64t-p4-smp
Version: 103
Severity: important

Using this kernel I got a kernel panic, the last lines are:

pivot_root: No such file or directory
/sbin/init: 432: cannot open dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!

It seems that the serveraid is not recognised. Using the normal
2.6.8-2-686-smp is working fine.

you didn't respond to the followups.
the message you posted is from a missing initrd not passed
to the bootloader.
i guess you have cured your system since.
please reopen if pain subsist.
