yesterday I asked inone list how to select the 2.6 kernel on the
installation for the stable version, and last night I used linux26 as the
boot's option.
I selected the Realtek's network card, and everything worked fine, I have an
emachines model t1742 at home.
So today I think that the problem was with the drivers on the 2.4 kernel.
