Package: src:linux Version: 4.7.8-1~bpo8+1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I’m running jessie with a backports kernel for its nouveau driver version which supports my GPU. Every few days during normal office work (running KDE with libreoffice etc), Xorg would freeze and consume 100% CPU, with the log output below. The rest of the system, apart from the graphical interface, remains responsive (e.g. via ssh), but as Xorg is stuck in kernel code, the process cannot be killed and there is no way to recover from the situation except for a hard reset. The freeze does not seem to correlate to any specific user action or uptime. When the freeze occurs, log output such as this appears repeatedly in the kernel log: [12812.769138] NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#2 stuck for 22s!
