Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp Version: 2.6.8-16 Severity: important File: kernel-image-2.6.8-2
Hello! On the 2.6.8-2 kernel-tree, apparently there were a number of NFSv3 problems introduced which Linux later fixed in 2.6.11, or maybe earlier in 2.6.9. This causes a NFSv3 mount from a Services for Unix 3.5 server to successfully mount, but hang whenever a 'ls' is performed on that directory or you attempt to 'cd' to it. I tested this with a 2.6.11 kernel pacgae from unstable and had no problems, nor did I have a problem with a Fedora Core 4 machine which is also running 2.6.11. The condition can be worked aroung by switching to 2.6.11, using NFSv2. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686-smp Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp depends on: ii coreutils [fileutils] 5.2.1-2 The GNU core utilities ii initrd-tools 0.1.81.1 tools to create initrd image for p ii module-init-tools 3.2-pre1-2 tools for managing Linux kernel mo -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
