Dear maintainers, got the kernel now running.
Solution: In /etc/default/grub I had to comment the following lines: GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x600 GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep I believe, the latest kernel-module is not capable to run the resolution of 1024x600 (which is the native resolution of my netbook). With the former kernels (version 4.12 and earlier), this worked fine. As I do not know, if this is a bug or a feature, I let it to you to decide, what it is. For me, this bugreport can be safely closed. However, if it is really a bug, just leave it open. I am happy with both ones. Thanks for reading this and best regards Hans
