Since kernel 4.17.8-1 have migrated to testing, I have been experiencing the
two following issues, that I believe are related:
- Processes doing disk accesses sometimes go into D state, while the
disk itself is idle and the kernel reports nothing spurious (in
particular no hardware timeout nor bus reset), and stay there several
seconds or many minutes.
- The audio device takes a noticeable time to open.
Both could be explained by some kind of interrupt problem.
For the audio device, I have the following strace output for "aplay -f
S16_LE -r 48000 -c 2 /dev/zero":
