Another solution is to not buy crappy proprietary nvidia hardware, or use the free nv drivers. Seriously, please file a bug against whatever packages is providing those nvidia modules, as it is their responsability to do the right thing about this, and provide proper conflicts and depends, build modules for official kernels, and provide a nice meta-package which would ease the migration in those cases. In any case, this is not a kernel bug, so tagging wontfix and leaving open for documentation purpose.
