Hi Debian Kernel team, I'd like to discuss a long-term issue that was reported in both Debian and Ubuntu. Booting a system with a bad console may cause a boot loop condition on initram scripts, if an invalid console output is set.
Recently there was two Debian bugs reported: and (the latter reported by me, the former by Jonas). Also, I've proposed a simple fix through the following merge request: salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/initramfs-tools/-/merge_requests/30 . Thanks in advance for the attention. Cheers, Guilherme bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=960355 bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=962545
