Package: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64

Dear maintainers,
On Jessie, last kernels have problem with my Nvidia Corporation G72M [Quadro
NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300]: gdm does not appear and in dmesg appears a "GPU
lockup". If then I try to halt or reboot, it hangs a long time and reports
messages of this type :
nouveau E[gnome-shell[915]] failed to idle channel 0xcccc000x [gnome-shell[915]]
Note: some messages are with 915, others are with 815, change x in channel with
0 or 1
I have the exact same problem with Fedora 21 and last updates (but can't halt
system at all, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1102066 ).
You will find dmesg with the last kernel and lspci attached. It works with
nomodeset.
I tried different previous kernels from snapshot.debian.org : the last one
working is the 3.12-1-amd64 (version 3.12.9-1). It does not work anymore until
3.13-1 version 3.13.10-1 (I did not try 3.13.0) :
- With 3.13-1, gdm does not appears
- With 3.14-2, the gdm graphics are highly corrupted
- With 3.15-rc8, gdm does not appear, like in 3.16
Do not hesitate to ask for more informations.
Thanks,
YvanM

Hi
This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.
If you can reproduce it with
- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports
please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.
Regards,
Salvatore
