I have ASUS N750JK laptop whith external subwoofer. This have Realtek ALC668 codec. By default, sound be played, but no output for subwoofer. In PHONON (i use KDE), no exist audio profiles for surround2.1. I try load kernel module snd-hda-intel whith option asus-mode4 (in file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa- base.conf: options snd-hda-intel model=asus-mode4). I can see audio profiles 2.1/4.0/5.0 in phonon, but 2.0 work only and internal microphone don't work. Next try - it is compile new kernel.
