Hi,
When I boot my computer, I choose Debian GNU/Linux with linux kernel
4.0.0.2. I tested hdmi sound on my desktop and it does not work.
However, if I choose a previous version of linux kernel (like
3.16.0.4-amd64), this issue disappears and hdmi sound works properly.
I wonder wheter this issue comes from the interaction between the new linux
kernel and the free radeon driver that I use for my ATI graphic card.

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.
If you can reproduce it with
- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports
please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
