Package: src:linux
Version: 3.16.43-2+deb8u5
Severity: important(fixed-upstream)
Dear Maintainer,
I'm using Debian 8 and 9 stable releases with kernel-image-686-pae.
I have a board with the Fintek F81866 SuperIO chipset; serial ports
/dev/ttyS0 and /dev/ttyS1 work properly, but /dev/ttyS2 and /dev/ttyS3
don't.
Looking at the source code I found that probably the current kernel(on
Debian 9 and 8) lacks of specific support for Fintek F81866 (file:
8250_fintek.c).
I tried with Debian testing and serial ports all work properly.
On current mainline kernel source(file: 8250_fintek.c) I can see that
there is a specific support for F81866.
Is it possible to support it on next stable kernel patch ?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
