Today when I booted my lenovo thinkpad T520 the touchpad and the trackpoint stopped working. I checked and no synaptic* kernel module is loaded and neither the xorg log nor dmesg contains traces of synaptic related output. The touchpad is of course still enabled in the bios and the function key to enable/disable the touchpad has no effect either. What puzzles me is that booting linux-image-3.2.0-2-amd64 did not help either :-/ (I am not sure what causes the bug, but because there is no synaptic kernel module loaded, I'm starting with a bug for the kernel...
