Package: src:linux Version: 5.10.70-1 Severity: normal Tags: ipv6 Dear Maintainer, when the route MTU (as set from IPv6 router advertisement) is > 1500, but interface MTU is <= 1500 (i.e. jumbo frames are not enabled), trying to copy a large file on LAN (tried scp and rsync) produces a hang (backtrace below).
It does not happen if - jumbo frames are enabled on the nic (by "ip link set eth0 mtu <X>" for <X> >= 1501) - the route MTU is manually set to 1500 After the hang the NIC remains usable, but the transmitting process that triggered it is unkillable. The NIC is RTL8211E Gigabit Ethernet, built-in on the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard.
