and you probably have /usr/local/bin before /usr/bin in your path
eg:
$ ln -s /usr/bin/perl ~/bin/perl
$ PATH=~/bin:${PATH} which perl
/home/mattia/bin/perl
this is used to create the yaird perl executable:
$ PATH=~/bin:${PATH} ./configure && make
...
Making all in perl

`/home/mattia/devel/debian/kernel/yaird/perl'

I'd say this is a problem in the submitter's build host. I's like
configuring a package with silly ./configure options and pretending it
works everywhere. :)
