Package: src:linux
Version: 4.19.16-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

on a Lenovo Thinkpad P1 (20MDCTO1WW) I followed the vendor supplied
instructions to set up the BIOS:
https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/tp_p1_debian9_installation_v1.1.pdf

With buster, firmware-iwlwifi and the nouveau driver I can boot with apci=off
parameter as suggested by the vendor for stretch.
The system then runs fine albeit single-processor (?) but of course power
management / suspend do not work.

If the system is started without the acpi=off parameter, after some time it
crashes with:
Feb 19 05:04:50 localhost kernel: [ 96.275419] watchdog: BUG: soft lockup -
CPU#9 stuck for 22s! [kworker/9:1:83]

I attach a kernel syslog.

These messages also seem relevant:

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
