Package: firmware-amd-graphics Version: 20230210-5 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected], [email protected]
firmware-amd-graphics version 20230515-3 (currently in unstable and testing) ships an inconsistent snapshot of the firmware files, which make Zen4/Phoenix1 GPU crash when starting Xorg. That renders any GUI unusable. Investigation and confirmation from AMD devs: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/2908#note_2125041 The firmware currently in linux-firmware works correctly. The snapshot shipped in stable (package version 20230210-5) also works correctly. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.5.6 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) firmware-amd-graphics depends on no packages. firmware-amd-graphics recommends no packages.
