This isn't good at all for OpenStack, as this is the driver used for OpenStack for its config drive. Indeed, the OpenStack config drive (where the instance is fetching its metadata) is a SATA AHCI CDROM if the VMs are booting using the Qemu q35 chipset (which is what everyone does, otherwise the emulated chipset is from the 90s).
