Package: src:linux
Version: 5.10.46-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

this happened when I lauched mpv with DRI_PRIME=1, as usual. Also, this
X.Org session *could* be using the modesetting driver, as I temporarily
switched to it from the usual radeon driver, still I don't remember
exactly if I restarted X.Org since that. Running a compositing WM
(Compiz).

The last thing I saw was an mpv window with a small video in the topleft
corner, and a garbage in the rest of area. Then the graphics had
completely frozen, couldn't even switch to another VT after Alt+SysRq+R.

I connected via SSH to see what's happening, and found out that journald
rapidly fills the disk with repeating messages (saved an excerpt only):

rm:radeon_cs_ioctl [radeon]] *ERROR* Failed to sync rings: -35
rm:radeon_cs_ioctl [radeon]] *ERROR* Failed to sync rings: -35
deon 0000:01:00.0: ring 5 stalled for more than 802164msec

id 0x000000000003>
rm:radeon_cs_ioctl [radeon]] *ERROR* Failed to sync rings: -35
rm:radeon_cs_ioctl [radeon]] *ERROR* Failed to sync rings: -35
rm:radeon_cs_ioctl [radeon]] *ERROR* Failed to sync rings: -35

`modprobe -r radeon` and `modprobe -r drm` weren't working either.
`cat /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/radeon_gpu_reset` had no effect: the screen
blinked and still was showing the same still image, and the dmesg spam
continued. So I had to vacuum the journald logs and reboot the system.
