Package: firmware-misc-nonfree
Version: 20250410-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
The site packages.debian.org reports that these two firmware files:
i915/kbl_guc_ver9_39.bin and i915/kbl_huc_ver02_00_1810.bin
are located in the firmware-misc-nonfree package, but apparently
these files are missing. They cannot be found also in the firmware-intel-
graphics
package.
* What led up to the situation?
I saw the following kernel message:
Jan 11 17:31:24 chromebook kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: Direct firmware load for
i915/kbl_dmc_ver1_04.bin failed with error -2
Jan 11 17:31:24 chromebook kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] Failed to load DMC
firmware i915/kbl_dmc_ver1_04.bin. Disabling runtime power management.
As a result, my laptop could not enter sleep (suspend to RAM) mode.
(my graphics card is CometLake-U GT2)
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
The problem was gone when the two files were copied into /lib/firmware/i915
manually.
