Hello,

I have had some problems with my Debian 13 installation, Trixie, I managed to resolve both problems yesterday evening. I began by trying to find a way to support the bluetooth chip on my Asus B850-plus motherboard.

Searching the Internet i eventually found the suggestion to upgrade the kernel from 6.12 to 6.14, which I did. It instantly resolved the bluetooth problem.

Inadvertently it solved another problem as well. I have purchased a MSI GeForce 5060 RTX 8GB VENTUS 2X OC card, with the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture. Alas, this card has never worked with Trixie, But when I upgraded the kernel to 6.14.0 this problem was resolved as well.

I did check the version history for the Linux kernel before I made the desission to upgrade, and found that it was released on March 24, 2025. In other words, it is more that one year old and probably reasonably stable by now. I understand that 6.14 is not on Lts (Long Time Support), the most recently versions on LTS is 6.12 and 6.18, But my problem was solved, and I am happy with my new kernel.

I understand that more people may have similar issues with their Debian 13 installations, and would therefore like to provide you with this information. It's entirely up to you, but a kernel upgrade to Trixie might not be such a bad idea.

With my best regards,

Sören Jonsson
