After checking with Srinivas this patch is considered as an improvement and not a "fix" so it has not and will not be submitted to stable@. Still this is nice to have to limit spam when userspace keeps trying to open the file as each try will create a log line and this can rapidly get out of hand. I can help with the creation of PRs and saw you already created it for unstable so I think you should proceed. It will eventually arrive in the backported kernels which is what is commonly used on these arm64 laptops, and the patch should not be needed after the next release. I need to double-check if it would make sense to have in the stable kernels as well; while laptops need a fairly recent kernel some IoT boards are fine with the stable kernel and this could be an improvement that benefits them as well; let’s focus on unstable/forky/trixie-bpo first. Thanks, Agathe.
