True, sort of. I meant that grub invokes the kernel with the root=/dev/md0 parameter. As it seems now, I assume the reason the machine doesn't boot is because /dev/hdc and /dev/hde is missing. Any ideas why /dev/hdc and /dev/hde are not created? Would creating the /dev entries manually get me somewhere? If so, what are the appropriate type and major/minor values? -- Vegard Svanberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [EMAIL PROTECTED] (EFnet)] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
