This is the way to go for this one. I am monitoring upstream work in the 2.6.17 branch, but i was told that ARCH=ppc is already too broken for PReP to build in it, so i would forget it for now, and wait until 2.6.17, or try to backport the fix once it goes in the 2.6.17 branch, or do the port ourselves.
