BTW, i am curious about this. How does the i386/amd64 toolchain differ from the powerpc/powerpc64 one ? On powerpc, it is enough to specify -m32 or -m64 to build the respective 32bit or 64bit code. Is this not the case on i386/amd64 ? If not, why, and would a solution like the powerpc one be possible ?
