Actually, I have the splash=silent in my boot commandline. I've also tried just plain splash and splash=enable with the same results of getting flooded with "chdir: No such file or directory" messages during boot.
And yes, I did follow the README by creating a /var/lib/usplash directory that contains the /var/lib/usplash/usplash_fifo fifo file. Please advise.
