Well, it can be wrong driver, who does not want to set DMA. Anyway, it seems, by "(*) Leave as NEW" status, unsolved in upstream (: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6745 I think, boot log, hdparm /dev/cdrw, hdparm -i /dev/cdrw would be good to have there.
