Package: linux-image-2.6.18-3-686
Version: 2.6.18-7
Severity: normal
after upgrading to etch, I get annoying
pci_set_power_state(): 0000:00:09.0: state=3, current state=5
pci_set_power_state(): 0000:00:09.0: state=3, current state=5
pci_set_power_state(): 0000:00:09.0: state=3, current state=5
pci_set_power_state(): 0000:00:09.0: state=3, current state=5
pci_set_power_state(): 0000:00:09.0: state=3, current state=5
in my kernel logs; after some investigation it turned out to be caused by the
3com 3c905 ethernet driver; i suspect it to be caused by MII ioctl()s, as I can
trigger 10 such messages by calling mii-tool (which happens to perform 10 MII
ioctl()s); and I suspect that some daemon such as dhclient regularly polls the
ethernet driver and thus causes to fill up my kernel log with those messages
over time...
