Package: initramfs-tools Version: 0.91e Severity: normal Hi,
I am seeing a situation, where after purging splashy, only for the first of two installed kernels the initrd is being updated. I have linux-image-2.6.24-1-686 and linux-image-2.6.24-1-484 installed. The fact that the versions are identical and only the processor type differs appears to screw up the initrd update process, so that I have to run update-initramfs manually for the -486 kernel. -- Package-specific info: -- /proc/cmdline root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet vga=791 -- /proc/filesystems ext3 fuseblk -- lsmod Module Size Used by tcp_diag 1792 0 inet_diag 12104 1 tcp_diag xt_limit 2656 8 xt_tcpudp 3136 38 ipt_LOG 5952 8 ipt_MASQUERADE 3776 0 ipt_TOS 2240 0 ipt_REJECT 4480 1 nf_conntrack_irc 6776 0 nf_conntrack_ftp 8896 0 xt_state 2464 9 snd_rtctimer 3648 1 i915 22048 3 drm 74132 4 i915 binfmt_misc 11240 1 rfcomm 36784 2 l2cap 22880 9 rfcomm tun 10976 0 vboxdrv 55632 0 ppdev 8804 0 parport_pc 33668 0 lp 11076 0 parport 34280 3 ppdev,parport_pc,lp ipv6 240772 20 acpi_cpufreq 9260 2 cpufreq_userspace 4260 0 cpufreq_powersave 1856 0 cpufreq_stats 5184 0 cpufreq_conservative 7560 0 cpufreq_ondemand 8492 1 freq_table 4512 3 acpi_cpufreq,cpufreq_stats,cpufreq_ondemand iptable_nat 6916 0 nf_nat 18316 2 ipt_MASQUERADE,iptable_nat nf_conntrack_ipv4 17352 11 iptable_nat nf_conntrack 62240 7 ipt_MASQUERADE,nf_conntrack_irc,nf_conntrack_ftp,xt_state,iptable_nat,nf_nat,nf_conntrack_ipv4 iptable_mangle 2784 0 iptable_filter 2976 1 ip_tables 13188 3 iptable_nat,iptable_mangle,iptable_filter x_tables 14244 9 xt_limit,xt_tcpudp,ipt_LOG,ipt_MASQUERADE,ipt_TOS,ipt_REJECT,xt_state,iptable_nat,ip_tables fuse 45204 1 snd_seq_midi_emul 5920 0 nvram 8488 0 loop 16804 0 firewire_sbp2 14252 0 snd_hda_intel 275264 4 snd_pcm_oss 38272 0 snd_pcm 71780 3 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm_oss arc4 2016 2 ecb 3552 2 blkcipher 6724 1 ecb pcmcia 37036 0 snd_mixer_oss 15296 1 snd_pcm_oss joydev 11360 0 snd_seq_dummy 3780 0 ricoh_mmc 3456 0 yenta_socket 24844 1 rsrc_nonstatic 11872 1 yenta_socket pcmcia_core 36884 3 pcmcia,yenta_socket,rsrc_nonstatic snd_seq_oss 29472 0 sdhci 16836 0 snd_seq_midi 8160 0 mmc_core 47300 1 sdhci snd_rawmidi 22624 1 snd_seq_midi snd_seq_midi_event 6976 2 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi snd_seq 46544 8 snd_seq_midi_emul,snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_midi_event battery 13572 0 snd_timer 21092 4 snd_rtctimer,snd_pcm,snd_seq iwl3945 84712 0 snd_seq_device 7820 5 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq video 18672 0 output 3744 1 video ac 6116 0 iTCO_wdt 11268 0 firmware_class 9312 2 pcmcia,iwl3945 snd 48612 16 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm_oss,snd_pcm,snd_mixer_oss,snd_seq_oss,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq,snd_timer,snd_seq_device mac80211 114380 1 iwl3945 button 8432 0 hci_usb 14780 2 i2c_i801 9232 0 bluetooth 53220 7 rfcomm,l2cap,hci_usb psmouse 36464 0 soundcore 7552 1 snd rtc 13052 2 snd_rtctimer intel_agp 23412 1 agpgart 31688 3 drm,intel_agp i2c_core 22432 1 i2c_i801 cfg80211 13480 1 mac80211 pcspkr 3200 0 snd_page_alloc 10056 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm serio_raw 6660 0 evdev 11104 7 ext3 122920 2 jbd 43732 1 ext3 mbcache 8288 1 ext3 sg 33264 0 sr_mod 16708 0 cdrom 32512 1 sr_mod sd_mod 27104 4 generic 4388 0 [permanent] ide_core 108292 1 generic 8139too 25600 0 ata_generic 7428 0 firewire_ohci 17760 0 firewire_core 39232 2 firewire_sbp2,firewire_ohci crc_itu_t 2176 1 firewire_core ata_piix 17092 3 8139cp 21856 0 mii 5312 2 8139too,8139cp ehci_hcd 32524 0 uhci_hcd 23376 0 libata 144464 2 ata_generic,ata_piix scsi_mod 141196 5 firewire_sbp2,sg,sr_mod,sd_mod,libata usbcore 132940 4 hci_usb,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd thermal 16028 0 processor 36520 4 acpi_cpufreq,thermal fan 4772 0 -- /etc/kernel-img.conf # Kernel image management overrides # See kernel-img.conf(5) for details do_symlinks = yes relative_links = yes do_bootloader = no do_bootfloppy = no do_initrd = yes link_in_boot = no postinst_hook = update-grub postrm_hook = update-grub -- /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf MODULES=most BUSYBOX=y KEYMAP=n BOOT=local DEVICE=eth0 NFSROOT=auto -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages initramfs-tools depends on: ii cpio 2.9-11 GNU cpio -- a program to manage ar ii findutils 4.4.0-1 utilities for finding files--find, ii klibc-utils 1.5.7-4 small statically-linked utilities ii module-init-tools 3.3-pre11-4 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii udev 0.114-2 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo Versions of packages initramfs-tools recommends: ii busybox 1:1.1.3-5 Tiny utilities for small and embed -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
