Hi, I have the same Problem with my Debian Testing system.
A few days ago, as I dist-upgrade my Debian-Testing installation and the xorg-Packages upgraded to the newest Version the synaptics Touchpad didn't work at all. I have also (installed) the i8042 Multiplex-Controller in my Siemens-Fuijitsu Lifebook S7010 (current Boot-Options i8042.reset i8042.nomux). Prior the update of the xserver-xorg-Packages in Testing the touchpad works perfectly. I downgraded the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics-Package to the stable version and it runs (also with the previous version in Testing). I think it could only be a bug in this package (eventually in combination with the i8042 Multiplex controller). I set this package (stable version) of hold in the debian package management, until this bug is fixed.
