Hi, I just grabbed a d-i daily build (netinst from June 2nd) and booted it on a Proliant dl380(g1) that has a cpqarray controller with the same PCI id as reported in the person following up to #466600 (who is not the original submitter, but claims to have repeated the problem).
The partitioning and package install work fine for me. The I/O was slow (I tested a dd to the device was about 6mb/sec) but I don't know if that's normal for that era/type of device. I will try an older d-i and see if it's any different. lspci -knn: 00:01.0 RAID bus controller [0104]: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic 53C1510 [1000:0010] (rev 02) lspci -knn: Kernel driver in use: cpqarray lspci -knn: Kernel modules: cpqarray This d-i is using the Linux version 2.6.24-1-486 (Debian 2.6.24-7). However the grub install stage fails, here's the output from syslog Jun 2 23:21:51 grub-installer: info: Installing grub on '(hd0)' Jun 2 23:21:51 grub-installer: info: grub-install supports --no-floppy Jun 2 23:21:51 grub-installer: info: Running chroot /target grub-install --no-floppy --recheck "(hd0)" Jun 2 23:21:51 grub-installer: You shouldn't call /sbin/grub-install. If I check /target/boot/grub/device.map it only contains (fd0) /dev/fd0 I did a "guided partitioning" "everything in one partition" so the c0d0p1 reported above is the root partition. I'll send more info when I get a chance. -- Matt Taggart [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
