Package: kernel
Severity: wishlist
Version: 2.6.9-3

There should be a way to tell the Debian version of the running kernel.
This allows comparison against the installed kernel package, so the
admin knows if they need to reboot.

[19:26:51] <dilinger> it might be worth it to add an extra /proc entry for
debian kernels
[19:26:55] <dilinger> /proc/debian
[19:27:19] <dilinger> w/ the currently running version, and perhaps some other
info
[19:29:24] <dilinger> maybe kernel-package version used

The Debian version of the running is included in /proc/version since a
long time.
