I'm now using 2.6.26-13, but the problem is still there. I've stopped doing large transfers of many files, because this bug manifests itself each time I do. But tonite I had to, and I discovered something that might help: I sshed into another computer and used scp to put files from there onto my T61p. When the T61p crashed, I walked over to the other computer, and discovered that I was still listed as logged into a user acount there via ssh, as if the T61p was still active. Scp was also still listed as active. Maybe this means that there is some kind of connection after all, even though you can't get "into" the T61p after the crash? I couldn't ping the T61p though, and when I did a hard reboot, no files had been transfered after the crash.
I just thought I'd tell you this. I haven't managed to try out the 2.6.28 kernel. I tried compiling one from the debian source in kernel-archive, but the compile failed (I followed the instructions in kernel-package to the letter). The problem seems to have been solved in arch linux: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/10984?string=iwlwifi&project=1&search_name=&type I'm not technical enough to quite understand what they're saying, but it looks useful. /Hans Christian -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
