Hi, In the very beginning of a boot my 2 USB disks always show up.In linux-image-2.6.30-1-686 only one does so the boot fails because the other one has partitions in /etc/fstab.
I have reported a bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=534324
