Hello, Sorry, I am not developper, but I stick with a problem with my laptop acer aspire 5102 wlmi (squeeze fxce4) aplay -l card 0: SB [HDA ATI SB], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
lspci | grep Audio 00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB4x0 High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) I have made the transition from lenny to squeeze and I have installed the package debian linux-image-2.6.32-5-686 and the kernel 2.6.30 I made a package .deb myself (with make-kpkg) With the kernel 2.6.30 all works fine I can hear, in console the audio CD with cdcd, cdtool etc ... and alsamixer gives the control CD. with the kernel 2.6.32-5-686 alsamixer doesn't give the control CD and for example cdcd can display the tracks of the CD but no sound. one bug report has been submitted : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=602752 against cdcd. But I wonder if the problem comes from cdcd, cdtool ... or if there is problem with the kernel 2.6.32-5-686 because on a desktop (squeeze gnome) I have made the transition lenny -> squeeze and with the kernel 2.6.32-5-686 cdcd works like charm. I can hear the CD in console. lspci gives for this desktop : 00:05.0 Multimedia audio controller: nVidia Corporation nForce Audio Processing Unit (rev a2) 00:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: nVidia Corporation nForce2 AC97 Audio Controler (MCP) (rev a1) Please, can someone tell me if there is a solution and if so, how to solve the problem on my laptop. tia. -- Gérard -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
