Sometimes when I connect a USB stick, I got a black screen or a blinking screen
a little like with a TV when the reception is bad.
When the screen is blinking, I found that I was still able to switch to virtual
terminal and here also the screen is blinking.
It is also still possible to reboot with the magic keys.

Or the computer case is not connected to the ground plane on the
motherboard. Anyway, this does explain the problem so I'm closing the
bug.
