Well, after minor modifications (needed to include freezer.h in fs/nfs/inode.c and net/sunrpc/sched.c) I've installed Jeff Layton's patch from https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=717735 in my 3.1-rc7 kernel...

... and it seems to work.

Or at least it works a lot better.

I've suspended and restarted many times without problems.

This is on the Dell Optiplex 390 (x86_64 processor).

I will build a kernel and try on the Optiplex GX270 (x86 processor).
