Note that Linux developers (just like me) tend to be so phenomenally lazy or busy that they do not subscribe to the mailing lists they use for development but only browse them from time to time. The convention in kernel-related lists is to cc those people who have already been involved in a particular discussion or seem likely to want to read your message for some other reason.
