Please test the attached patch by performing the following steps
(roughly based on [1]):
0. Prerequisites
apt-get install build-essential fakeroot
apt-get build-dep linux-2.6
1. Get the source
apt-get source linux-2.6
cd linux-2.6-<version>
2. Patch it
patch -p0 < <path to patch>
3. Build it
fakeroot debian/rules source
fakeroot make -f debian/rules.gen binary-arch_amd64_none_amd64
4. Test it (as root)
dpkg -i ../<name of package>
reboot
