Thanks. What X driver do you use? Do you have an /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and if so, with what settings? If you boot without X (e.g., in recovery mode) and explicitly run "modprobe nouveau" does it still fail? Can you ssh in? Bug #669306 allocated to track this.
