Jonathan- I've been running the patched kernel for 32 hours now without a timeout. I saw that one of the patches is using the old madwifi code. A few years back I was running Fedora with the madwifi driver for my card, and I did not have this issue at that time.
BTW, I had patched the kernel last Thursday, and I intended to let the system run all weekend and report my results. Alas, a T-storm came though and knocked out the power. When I came in Monday, my system was sitting quietly off. I'll continue to monitor the new patched kernel and report in as soon as a timeout occurs (if it does), and periodically otherwise to let you know all is well.
