I guess this is because kbuild is for 3.5 but the kernel version in experimental is called 3.5-trunk. I tried to use the "mini howto" from <http://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2012/08/msg00390.html> but I can't find any way to make it work with the "trunk" suffix. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.5-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages linux-kbuild-3.5 depends on: ii libc6 2.13-35 linux-kbuild-3.5 recommends no packages. linux-kbuild-3.5 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

You need to install matching versions of linux-headers-3.5-trunk-<flavour> and linux-image-3.5-trunk-<flavour>. (When the package name includes 'trunk' there is no promise that the ABI won't change between different versions of the package.)
