I have the same issue. I downgraded to 3.2.39-2 as suggested by Sebi Bauer
and it was resolved. The card I have is:
01:04.0 Communication controller: NetMos Technology PCI 9835 Multi-I/O
Controller (rev 01) Subsystem: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic 1P2S
I note that the working kernel reports:
Kernel driver in use: parport_serial
whereas the non-working ones report the "serial" driver.
