Dear kernel maintainers, Since I updated to kernel "3.11-0.bpo.2-686-pae", I'm missing the eraly-firmware update stuff, which I'm needing because the BIOS of my old ACER H340 will never get an update for the Intel processors it is using and early-fw is the only way to get it applied. Therefore I kindly ask, if it would be possible to re-enable these setting, as they were present in 3.10.? In " http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2013/09/msg00126.html" users are urged to use the new fw because of security issues.
Best regards, Muelly ~# uname -a Linux blurb 3.11-0.bpo.2-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.11.10-1~bpo70+1 (2013-12-17) i686 GNU/Linux ~# cat /boot/config-3.11-0.bpo.2-686-pae |grep EARLY # CONFIG_MICROCODE_INTEL_EARLY is not set # CONFIG_MICROCODE_AMD_EARLY is not set
