I just tried applying this patch to the debian 2.4.19 kernel. I got a message asking
if I wanted to use the -R option, I saied no. Tried to complie it and it stped at
...acpi/ospm because it couldn't find it. In the readme.debian it mentioned that
they changed ACPI to where is could be a modual, whcih may be the cause for my problem.

Anyway, when you use this patch do you use a debian kernel or grab one from linux.org
?
