SpeedStep is only supported by the "mobile" Intel-CPUs. Are you sure there is a "Pentium IV-m" (the "m" is the important thing) in your Laptop? ASUS also sells Notebooks with the "desktop" version of the PIV, which does _not_ support SpeedStep.
