got it (Xserver 4.1.0 from woody and self compiled 2.4.20 / 2.5.59 kernel).
but with xfree 4.1, got to use -ignoreABI option. is this important?
maybe I'll try with xfree 4.2 for woody (non official packages) but I 
perfer not to use unofficial source.
