Hello, I have a small laptop, P75 machine, with a PCMCIA card, and a D-Link DWL-650 wireless card. Having alot of trouble getting this thing to work, but I'm getting closer.
I'm using kernel 2.4.18 (because anything higher doesn't work on this machine, its a bug), PCMCIA-cs 3.2.4, other cards work, a 3com ethernet card, acouple of modems etc.. This card (the D-Link) will now give me a high beep then a low beep. And here is the snip from the log: ----[SNIP]---- Mar 23 22:49:50 desiree cardmgr[1516]: socket 0: D-Link DWL-650 11Mbps 802.11b WLAN Card Mar 23 22:49:50 desiree cardmgr[1516]: executing: 'modprobe orinoco_cs' Mar 23 22:49:50 desiree kernel: hermes.c: 4 Dec 2002 David Gibson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mar 23 22:49:50 desiree kernel: orinoco.c 0.13b (David Gibson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and others) Mar 23 22:49:50 desiree kernel: orinoco_cs.c 0.13b (David Gibson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and others) Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: Station identity 001f:0004:0001:0003 Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: Looks like an Intersil firmware version 1.3.4 Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: Ad-hoc demo mode supported Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: IEEE standard IBSS ad-hoc mode supported Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: WEP supported, 104-bit key Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: MAC address 00:05:5D:A6:E5:46 Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: Station name "Prism I" Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: ready Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: index 0x01: Vcc 5.0, irq 3, io 0x0100-0x013f Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree cardmgr[1516]: executing: './network start eth0' Mar 23 22:49:51 desiree kernel: eth0: Error -110 setting multicast list.
